Time was when Pittsburgh’s brand was smokin’. And not in a good way. Steel, football and an aging rustbelt image were the tired, outdated brand images that regularly popped up on Monday Night Football and led off any story in the national media.

The Agency led the award-winning consumer destination marketing for VisitPittsburgh (formerly the Greater Pittsburgh Convention & Visitors Bureau) for more than a decade, recognized as the most successful era in the organization’s history (and increasing visitors from 3.7 million to more than 10.2 million).
As a full-service agency partner, Elias/Savion developed brand strategy, geo-targeted marketing plans, creative campaigns, website design and public relations for Pittsburgh and its convention and consumer-driven retail, travel and tourism outlets.

The Agency pioneered new and deeper partnerships with emerging tourism drivers and destinations throughout the region, coordinated efforts to cross-promote overnight opportunities, developed highly-successful, lifestyle-driven Getaway Packages, helped spearhead the marketing and public relations efforts at developing the new convention center and stadium deals.

During the agency’s tenure, Allegheny County was named the No. 1 travel & tourism county in the Commonwealth (ahead of Philadelphia)
